On January 25, 1924, the first Winter Olympic Games opened in Chamonix, France. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) organized the inaugural Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix as an extension of the Summer Olympics. It aimed to recognize the growing popularity and importance of winter disciplines. The event was held over 12 days, conducting six sports, including bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, and Nordic skiing. 258 athletes, including 11 women from 16 nations participated in this Winter Olympic Games. The opening ceremony was held at the Olympic Stadium in Chamonix, and the event attracted 10,004 paying spectators. The success of this event paved the way for the birth of the subsequent Winter Olympics.
