Jamal Murray is a Canadian professional basketball player. He mainly plays as a point guard and can also handle shooting guard responsibilities. Murray is well known for his scoring ability, three-point shooting, and playmaking skills. He attended Grand River Collegiate Institute in Kitchener and then transferred to Orangeville Prep in Orangeville, Ontario. At that time, Murray gained recognition as one of the top high school basketball players in Canada and the United States.
On June 23, 2016, the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) selected Jamal Murray with the seventh overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He quickly became an integral part of the team and formed a strong backcourt duo with Nikola Jokic. Murray showed his scoring ability with an average of 9.9 points per game during his rookie season. Later, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie second team.
Murray showed several remarkable performances in the 2020 NBA Playoffs.
