Largest 5 moons in the solar system

Considering the Solar System, There are eight planets is in their. So, There are 193 moons in these eight planets. Some planets of them are as large as the Earth as well as others are very small. This article is about the five largest moons in the Solar System.

Ganymede

Ganymede is the largest moon in the Solar System and It is the moon of Jupiter. This is two-thirds as large as Mars and also larger than Mercury and the dwarf planet Pluto.

Diameter of Ganymede is 5,268 kilometers and its orbit is about one million kilometers. Diameter takes about 7 days of Earth to orbit Jupiter.

So, Ganymede is composed of silicate rocks and ice and also It has an iron-rich liquid core.

Titan

Titan is second largest in the Solar System and It is the largest of the Saturn. This is the only moon with a significantly denser atmosphere.

Titan contains 5% methane and 95% nitrogen in the atmosphere.

So, It has been found to contain carbon and hydrogen-containing organic molecules.

The diameter Titan is 5,152 kilometers.

Callisto

Callisto is the second largest moon of Jupiter.

The diameter of Callisto is more than 4800 kilometers. So, Callisto is making it closer to the size of Mercury.

Callisto is the outermost moon among the four Galilean moons of Ganymede, Europa, Io, and Callisto.

Io

Io is also a moon of Jupiter. as well as Io belongs to the four Galilean moons.

The diameter of Io is 3,636 kilometers and also the average distance from Jupiter is 422,000 kilometers.

Io is the most dense moon in the Solar System. and This is the driest object found in the solar system.

Moon

The Moon is the only sub planet of the Earth. and Moon is the 5th largest sub planet in the Solar System.

So, There is no real atmosphere in the moon. and It is lifeless place.

The absence of a real atmosphere in the moon is due to its low magnitude and also Moon’s gravity is not sufficient strong to attract an atmosphere.

The rotational speed of moon corresponds to the earth. Because of thet, There is always only one soil of the moon facing the earth.

The moon has a small metallic core and It is a a rocky planet.

Moon orbits the earth in a slightly elliptical way. It is at an average distance of 384,000 kilometers for the earth. and The diameter of moon is 3475 kilometers.
